“Soccer" Manchester United

Former Manchester United player and Molde Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho in December 2018 and the Reds won 14 out of their first 19 games under the Norwegian boss. They beat Paris Saint-Germain the Round of 16 of the Champions League, this even though PSG won the first leg 2-0. Manchester United is the most successful club in England with a record of 20 top flight titles, 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, and a record 21 FA Shields. Their trophy case also included 3 UEFA Champions League titles, 1 UEFA Europa Cup, 1 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. The Reds are also the first English club to win the continental European treble. Manchester United head to this match as the soccer betting favorites to beat Wolverhampton.

“Soccer" Who Wins?

Manchester United’s preparations for the 2019-20 English Premier League season have gone well. They defeated the Perth Glory 2-0 last July 13 and then proceeded to defeating Leeds and Inter. They picked up their fourth straight win with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham on July 25 and then added a fifth straight triumph against Kristiansund 1-0.

It’s difficult to dwell on these pre-season performances but they have been impressive so far. New players Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James have played well for Solskjaer’s side this summer. Manchester United is still waiting on Paulo Dybala if he is willing to move to Old Trafford in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku. Also, The Reds and Leicester City are still £15 million from acquiring Harry Maguire. There are still plenty of things waiting to happen at Old Trafford but it’s hard not no notice how good their form is right now.

Wolverhampton started their preseason campaign with a 4-0 win over Newcastle in the Premier League Asia trophy. Then they defeated defending Premier League champions Manchester United on free kicks three days later. Wolverhampton is coming off a 2-0 win over the Crusaders in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League match. Despite this good run, Wolverhampton showed some signs that they need more fine-tuning before hitting top form.

Both these teams have played well in the preseason and both should carry the momentum as the 2019-20 English Premier League season starts. It’s going to be a tough and long season and both these teams want to make an early statement to the rest of the league. I like Manchester United here because they have the superior line-up and look to be in better form heading to the season. Prediction: Manchester United
