The Washington Wizards visit the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Monday night.

Washington is 29-37 SU on the season and they are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference team standings. The Wizards are only 3-7 SU in their last 10 games played and have dropped three in a row, putting them three games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the 10th seed and final play-in tournament spot in the Eastern Conference. In their last game, the Wizards lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 127-118.

Golden State is hitting its stride at the right time. The Warriors are just 4-6 in their last 10 games played but have won three in a row and are coming off a 122-109 blowout of the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks. Klay Thompson broke out of his slump with a big game the last time out and with Draymond Green expected to return in this game, the Warriors will be at full strength here.

Basketball Washington Wizards

The Wizards dropped their third straight game with a loss to the Blazers in Portland. They are 0-3 SU in their current road trip and will be playing the Warriors at Chase Center. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Wizards with 26 points on 5-10 three-point shooting while Kyle Kuzma continued to play well with 22 points. Rui Hachimura and Ish Smith combined for 22 points off the bench in the losing effort.

Kuzma leads the Wizards with 17.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is putting up 19.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in three games played for Washington. Basketball Golden State Warriors

The Warriors won their third in a row by blowing out the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks 122-109 in their last game. Klay Thompson scored 38 points, his highest-scoring game since returning from a 2.5 years absence due to injury. Jordan Poole added 30 points and he has scored at least 20 points in his last six games. Steph Curry took only seven shots and finished with only eight points.

Curry leads the Warriors in scoring and passing at 25.6 points and 6.4 assists per game. Kevon Looney is the team’s top rebounder at 7.6 rebounds per game while also scoring 6.4 points per game. Andrew Wiggins is putting up 17.3 points per game while Jordan Poole has been a huge lift with 16.9 points per game.

Golden State ranks 10th in the NBA in scoring at 111.4 points per game this season. The Dubs are 8th in rebounding at 45.5 boards grabbed per contest and 2nd in assists at 27.4 assists per game. The Warriors have the 5th best scoring defense in the league at 104.9 points per game conceded.

Basketball Who Wins?

Washington is 1-4 SU in their last five games played. The Wizards are 12-20 SU in their 32 road games played this season and 3-9 SU in their last 12 road games against Western Conference opponents.

Golden State is 3-1 SU in their last four games played. The Warriors are 15-5 SU in their last 20 games played at home, 15-5 SU in their last 20 games against an opponent from the Eastern Conference, and 11-2 SU in their last 13 home games against an opponent from the Southeast Division.

Head to head, Golden State Warriors are 15-5 SU in their last 20 games against the Washington Wizards.

Washington has struggled without Bradley Beal and they are 3-7 SU in their last 10 games played and have dropped three in a row. They have fallen three games back of the 10th seed and their playoff hopes are fading fast. Although their situation will make them dangerous because they will be going all out, the pressure to win will be higher and without Beal, it’s going to be tough to do that.

Golden State is just 4-6 SU in their last 10 games played but the Warriors have won three in a row and will be getting Draymond Green back. Golden State looked spectacular in their last game with Klay Thompson finding his range and Jordan Poole playing well beside him and Curry. Curry took just seven shots in that game and finished with 8 points and the Dubs still beat the defending champion, Milwaukee Bucks, at full strength. Give me the Warriors to win this one.

Prediction: Golden State Warriors

Odds from BetOnline as of 03/14/2022

The total has gone over in each of the last six games played by the Wizards. The over is also 5-0 in their last five games when allowing 100 or more points in their previous game, 5-0 in their last five games when scoring 100 or more points in their previous game, 4-0 in their last four games after an ATS loss, and 5-2 in their last seven Monday games, 5-2 in their last seven games when playing on one day rest, 35-15-1 in their last 51 games against an opponent with a winning percentage better than .600.

The total has gone over in nine out of the last 13 games played by the Warriors. The over is 7-3 in Golden State’s last 10 games as betting favorites, 8-2-1 in their last 11 games when allowing more than 100 points in their previous game, and 4-1 in their last five home games against an opponent with a losing road record.

The over is also 7-2 in their last nine games when playing on one day rest, 7-3-1 in their last 11 games when their opponent scores 100 or more points in their previous game, and 5-1 in their last six home games after a double-digit straight up win.

Head to head, the total has gone over in six out of the last nine meetings between these two teams. The over is also 4-1 in their last five meetings in Golden State.

Golden State is rolling right now with Klay Thompson hitting his stride and Jordan Poole continuing his impressive season despite playing alongside the Splash Brothers. With Draymond Green coming back on Monday, the defense should be better and the ball should be moving better with Green’s passing.

If Bradley Beal were around, I would have picked the Wizards. But without Beal, their offense has been unpredictable and between them and the healthy Golden State Warriors, I’m leading with the Dubs to cover the spread here. The Warriors have won their last three games by double digits and these games were against the Clippers, Nuggets, and Bucks who are playoff teams. I trust they cover the spread against a struggling Wizards team.

Washington and Golden State have combined to score an average of 235.7 points per game in their last 10 head-to-head meetings 227.66 points per game in their most recent three encounters.

The Wizards are in the bottom 10 of the league in scoring points but are also in the bottom half in scoring defense. That’s the reason why the over is 35-29-2 in their games this season. Washington has given up at least 115 points in their last five games played and has topped 225.5 points in each of their last six games played.

Golden State has the 5th best scoring defense in the NBA this season but is in the Top 10 in scoring. The Warriors have scored 113 or more points in five out of their last six games played and put up 122 points the last time out even with Steph Curry scoring only 8 points on 7 shots.

With Klay Thompson starting to find his range and Jordan Poole comfortable playing with Curry and Thompson, the Warriors are loaded. Add Draymond Green who is expected to return in this game and the Warriors’ scoring machine is complete.

Prediction: Over 225.5
