The Indiana Pacers hit the road and travel to the Amway Center to take on the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night in the second straight game between these two teams.

Indiana is 21-42 SU on the season and they are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference team standings. The Pacers are 9 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the 10th spot and final play-in tournament position. They are 2-8 SU in their last 10 games played and lost to the Magic in their last outing.

Orlando is an even worse 15-47 SU on the season. The Magic have the current worst record in the NBA. They are a little better than the Pacers right now at 3-7 SU in their last 10 games played and have won their last two games, including a 119-103 victory over Indiana the last time out.

This is the third meeting between these two teams this season. Orlando won the first two and the Magic are looking to sweep the series with a win here.

Basketball Indiana Pacers

Tyrese Haliburton continued to impress as a Pacer as he led Indiana with 23 points and 7 assists against the Magic. Buddy Hield added 18 points with 6 assists while Jalen Smith had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Goga Bitadze Duane Washington Jr. each contributed 11 points off the bench for Indiana.

Haliburton has averaged 20.3 points and 10.1 assists per game since moving to Indiana. Hield is also having a great start at 21.7 points per game in his first seven as a Pacer. Meanwhile, Myles Turner is putting up 12.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and Malcolm Brogdon 18.5 points and 5.8 assists per game.

The Pacers are 15th in the NBA in scoring at 109.7 points per game this season. They are 16th in rebounding at 44.6 boards grabbed per contest and 12th in passing at 24.6 assists per game. Indiana ranks 22nd in scoring defense at 112.3 points per game allowed this season.

Basketball Orlando Magic

Wendell Carter Jr. had a big night with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Mo Bamba added 15 points and 10 rebounds as Orlando beat Indiana 119-103 in their most recent game. Franz Wagner also put up 15 points and Jalen Suggs had 14 points and 10 assists for the Magic.

Cole Anthony leads the Magic in scoring and passing at 17.5 points and 5.8 assists per game. Rookie Franz Wagner is putting up 15.5 points per game this season while Wendell Carter Jr. is scoring 14.3 points while grabbing a team-high 10.3 rebounds per game. Mo Bamba is scoring 10.0 points per game while grabbing 7.9 rebounds per contest and blocking 1.8 shots per game.

Orlando is 28th in the league in scoring at 103.8 points per game this season. They are 25th in rebounding at 43.5 boards grabbed per contest and 22nd in passing 23.3 assists per game. The Magic are 21st in scoring defense at 111.8 points per game allowed.

Basketball Who Wins?

The Pacers are 2-9 SU in their last 11 games played. Indiana is 6-24 SU in 30 road games played this season. The Magic are 3-6 SU in their last nine games played. Orlando is 5-13 SU in their last 18 games played at home.

Head to head, the Pacers are 6-4 SU in their last 10 games played against the Magic and are 11-2 SU in their last 13 road games against Orlando but the Magic have won two out of their last three head-to-head meetings overall.

Please Note

Both these teams have been terrible this season and it’s hard to pick between two teams who haven’t been consistent enough to win games. However, the Magic just beat the Pacers 119-103 just last Monday, one game after the Pacers stunned the Boston Celtics.

When you play without consistency, it’s hard to put up winning streaks and it’s much harder to beat the same team in consecutive games. Although Indiana’s looked like a mess as of late, the Pacers still have the better team than Orlando. With Haliburton looking more comfortable by the game, I’m going with the Pacers to pull off the upset here.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers

Basketball Other Bets to Make

Indiana is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games played. The Pacers are 3-7 ATS after allowing more than 100 points in their previous game, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after their opponent scores more than 100 points in their previous game, 8-20 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games, 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games against an opponent with a losing home record, and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games when playing on one-day rest.

It’s surprising to find the Magic as favorites here but given that Indiana has been a mess as of late with just three wins in their last 13 games played, this may be what the sportsbooks had in mind when putting up this line. However, Orlando is just 9-19 ATS in their last 28 home games and Indiana is 12-9-1 ATS as road underdogs.

No question that the Pacers still have the sour taste of their loss to the Magic the last time out in their mouths. Indiana would surely love to get revenge on Orlando. The Pacers still look like the better team overall than Orlando. We saw in their win against Boston that they are capable of putting up points in a hurry. I’ll take the plus points and the Pacers here.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers +1

The total has gone over in 13 out of the last 16 games played by the Pacers. Indiana has seen the total go over in eight out of their last 11 games against the Eastern Conference. The over is 5-0 in their last five games after a loss, 9-1-1 in their last 11 games when playing on one day rest, 6-1-1 in their last eight games against a team with a winning percentage below .400, 5-1 in their last six games after a straight-up loss, and 8-2 in their last 10 games against an opponent with a losing straight up record.

The total has gone over in five out of the last seven Wednesday games played by Orlando. The over is 7-3 in their last 10 games against the Eastern Conference, 15-3 in their last 18 games when playing on one day rest, 10-3-1 when their opponent allows more than 100 points in their previous game, 5-2 in their last seven games against an opponent with a losing record, 35-15-3 in their last 53 games after a straight-up win, and 4-1 ATS in their last five head to head meetings against the Pacers.

These two teams have combined to score an average of 234 points per game in their last three head-to-head meetings. Indiana has scored 119 or more points in four out of their last six games played while the Magic have seen the total hit 232 three times in their last five games played.

Indiana and Orlando rank in the Bottom 10 in scoring defense so putting up points won’t be a problem for both teams in this contest. Both teams are over the .500 mark as far as OVER records are concerned. I don’t expect too much defense in this game and it’s going to be decided by which team scores more points.

Prediction: Over 231
