The professional League of Legends scene is about to enter a new season. A total of at least 5 different leagues are worth following and in this article we will help you get a much better idea of how last season ended and what you can expect for the new one.

The 2018 season was for sure one full of upsets and unexpected winners. From SK Telecom T1, who went from 3 consecutive Grand Finals and 3 titles in total at Worlds, to not even qualifying for the event. It was an absolutely terrible year for Faker and his team, but somewhere else things went better than expected. Both Europe and North America thrived in 2018.

Just like the Spring Split, the Summer Split was extremely contested in the North American region, with Team Liquid narrowly leading the pack. Liquid also won the Playoffs Stage of this split, seeming more dominant than it ultimately turned out to be at Worlds 2018.

Mid-Season Invitational 2018

Mid-Season Invitational 2018 ended with some unusual results in light of what was going to happen at Worlds 2018. China and Korea played for the title, followed by Europe and then everyone else.

Worlds 2018

Worlds 2018 was a complete mess in terms of results. Nobody would have predicted that these 4 teams were going to be the ones to dominate the competition. China ultimately won, but not the team that the fans favored, followed by Europe and North America. Korea of all regions messed up completely.
