The Houston Rockets travel to California to take on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night in a battle of Western Conference playoff hopefuls.
Hampered By Injuries
The Houston Rockets have seen their season hampered by injuries to their starters. Chris Paul has missed 23 games, Eric Gordon 12 and Clint Capela 11. Paul is back, Gordon took a rest in their last game and they expect Capela to return after the All-Star break. Because of this, head coach Mike D’Antoni has had to squeeze every ounce of production from James Harden to keep the Rockets in playoff contention. Thank goodness for Houston, the Beard has responded the challenge.
The Rockets rank 12th in the league in scoring at 112.8 points per game. They are 28th in passing at 20.7 assists per game and 27th in rebounding at 41.8 boards per contest. Houston is tied for 15th in the NBA in scoring defense at 111.1 points per game allowed this season.

Home Sweet Home
The Golden 1 Center has been home sweet home for the Sacramento Kings this season. This Kings aren’t just 17-10 SU on their home floor this season but they also head to Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets with seven consecutive victories in their building. In their last home game on Monday night, the Kings downed the veteran San Antonio Spurs.
The Kings are the 8th best scoring team in the league at 113.7 points per game. They are ranked 9th in passing at 25.8 assists per game this season. Sacramento is also #19 in rebounding at 44.8 boards per contest and are 27th in scoring defense at 114.8 points per game allowed.
Who Wins?
Houston is 6-4 SU in their last 10 games played and are 3-2 SU in their last five road games. The Rockets are 4-2 SU in their last six road games against the Pacific Division and 3-1 SU in their last four road games against the Kings. Sacramento is 6-4 SU in their last 10 games played. The Kings are 6-0 SU in their last six games against the Southwest Division and 4-0 SU in their last four games at home
The Kings have been smoking on offense lately. They are on a three game winning streak where they are scoring an average of 124.67 points per game. In their last outing, the Kings outgunned the veteran San Antonio Spurs for their seventh consecutive home win. Marvin Bagley is coming off a career game while Buddy Hield and De’Aaron Fox have been impressive.
Sacramento though is 3-4 SU in their last seven games as underdogs while the Rockets are 4-2 SU in their last six games as favorites. I love how the Kings’ young stars have developed but James Harden has been ridiculous. With Chris Paul back and guys like Eric Gordon, P.J. Tucker, Gerald Green and Austin Rivers providing him offensive help, the Rockets should have more than enough to pull off a win.
I’m picking the Houston Rockets to beat the Sacramento Kings on 2/6/19.

Over/Under Odds: Over 233.5 -109, Under 233.5 -109
Odds from gtbets.eu as of 2/6/19
Both these teams have issues on defense resulting in poor performance on that side of the curt. The Rockets are ranked 25th in defensive efficiency and the Kings aren’t that much better at #20 in that statistical category. The chalk is high but the Rockets have averaged 120.25 points per game in their last four games while the Kings have averaged 124.67 points in their current three game winning streak. With Harden playing out of this world offense, you have to like the over.
Prediction: Over 233.5
