Casino Games can be played for charity as well as for profit it seems. This year’s Casino Royale 3rd Annual Charity Night was heavy on the Goldfinger influence. Ladies dressed in clinging gold cat suits to add glamor to the night.

What is the Casino Royale Story?

The charity night began in 2012 as a way for guests to enjoy the atmosphere of a casino while at the same time helping good causes. At the event guests play a selection of games, including poker, blackjack and roulette, with casino money that they are given along with their ticket, on arrival at the venue. They can also use this money to participate in auctions on the night for amazing prizes such as Louis Vuitton bags, luxury breaks, and home theater systems.

At this years event there was also a blind auction with prizes including signed guitars from Taylor swift and Miley Cyrus.

Ottawa Senators Foundation

Each year 100% of the funds raised at the event goes to the benefiting charity. The charity for 2014 was the Ottawa Senators Foundation in support of the Max Keeping Foundation, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs.

The Foundation invests in the youth of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec by providing funds for community initiatives. The funded initiatives are all involved in promoting the mental and physical well-being of children and young people.  The Foundation works in conjunction with Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, its corporate partner, and fans and has donated funds of over $75 million.

A Major Success in 2014

The Casino Royale event has been a success since its instigation and the 2014 night was no different. Presented by Faces Magazine 1,000 guests descend on the premier Brookstreet Hotel, for a little taste of Las Vegas in the Canadian capital. The crowd was larger and younger than for previous years and included prolific cancer fundraiser Paige Dillabough, who herself survived an encounter with childhood brain cancer.

The unparalleled success of the evening means that the annual Casino Royale experience is set to continue for many years to come. Not only does this mean that Ottawa residents will continue to have the advantage of being able to sample the fun of gaming, but it also means that local charitable organizations will continue to benefit from the funds raised. A gambling experience that brings enjoyment as well as revenue for some great causes.
