The Hawks fell flat in Denver, Russell Westbrook finally looked human and the Bulls needed overtime to beat the 76ers on a crazy Wednesday night. We escaped with a 5-5 mark (556-284 on the year), but had the Hawks showed up we would have at least cracked .500. We’ll take the wash and head into a quieter Thursday night aiming for perfection.

There are a couple heavy clashes tonight, with the capper being a light affair between the Knicks and Lakers. Let’s jump right into our NBA picks for Thursday, 3/12/2015:

Bucks @ Pacers

Milwaukee enters Indiana tonight fresh off a nice win over the Magic, but taking down the Pacers could be tough given Indy’s stout six-game winning streak. The Pacers put the clamps down defensively and have been quite strong lately – especially at home.

Pick: Pacers 102, Bucks 98

Grizzlies @ Wizards

Washington has begun to pick up the pieces lately, but they’re still just 3-7 over their last 10 games. They have a slight advantage at home tonight and if Mike Conley is out they just might have the total edge. The Grizzlies are a much more disciplined unit, though, and are pretty strong on the road (21-12).

Pick: Grizz 105, Wiz 101

Rockets @ Jazz

Houston fell to the Blazers last night, so despite Utah’s strong defense it’s tough to not see the Rockets coming in and taking the Jazz down. Gordon Hayward (back) could be out or limited anyways, so it’s tough to love the Jazz against a much stronger opponent.

Pick: Rockets 106, Jazz 99

Cavaliers @ Spurs

The Cavs will be truly tested tonight, as they have a tough road game with a surging Spurs team. San Antonio has remained stout on their home floor (24-7) and has turned things around with a nice six-game run. Cleveland has been very impressive but taking down this version of the Spurs on the road is a tall order.

Pick: Spurs 104, Cavs 102

Knicks @ Lakers

The Knicks and Lakers isn’t the battle it used to be, as both of these teams are at the bottom of their divisions and probably can’t wait for the season to end. L.A. oddly has more talent and is at home, though, so they get the nod.

Pick: Lakers 107, Knicks 104
