Football Women’s World Cup 2023 Winner Odds

  • USA; +275
  • England; +350
  • Spain; +500
  • Germany; +600
  • France; +850

The latest FIFA Women’s World Cup betting odds show that the US has the best shot at lifting the prestigious trophy. The Americans have dominated the tournament, winning it four times in total, including France 2019.

England and Spain don’t trail the Americans by much. You should take the top European teams seriously when betting on the Women’s Soccer World Cup in 2023. They will be eager to dethrone the US and have the players to achieve it.

Football Main Favorites for the 2023 World Cup

Before I dive into my final Women’s World Cup 2023 predictions, I want to analyze the main favorites. Everyone knows that the US is a powerhouse in women’s international soccer. However, winning a third consecutive World Cup title won’t be easy.

The Americans will have to play their best if they expect to get past teams like England and Spain. The Lionesses have been infinitely better under head coach Sarina Wiegman. The Spanish could also potentially challenge the US and England for the trophy.

United States

  • FIFA Ranking: 1st
  • Head Coach: Vlatko Andonovski
  • Key Player: Alex Morgan

The United States has been one of the most successful women’s national teams in history. They’ve won the World Cup on four occasions to go along with four Olympic gold medals. Dominance doesn’t begin to describe how good the team has been over the past few decades.

The Americans have done nothing but win after a disappointing finish in the 2020 Olympics. In 2023, the US has no lossess, having defeated teams like Japan, Canada, and Brazil. They’re in peak form heading into the tournament.

At the SheBelives Cup, the Americans were virtually unstoppable. They conceded just a single goal during the tournament, with Mallory Swanson scoring three goals and Alex Morgan scoring once. Becky Sauerbrunn was also brilliant in her defensive efforts for the US.

Several notable players from the American squad that won the 2019 World Cup are still with the team. This includes Morgan, Swanson, Sauerbrunn, and Megan Rapinoe. The United States looks better than ever right now, and winning another World Cup is well within reach.

However, the top European sides will be much stronger in 2023. The domestic leagues in England, Spain, and France are the strongest female club competitions in the world. That’s why I expect a new champion this year.

England

  • FIFA Ranking: 4th
  • Head Coach: Sarina Wiegman
  • Key Player: Leah Williamson

This is arguably the most talented generation ever in England’s history. Their women’s team has been on fire ever since Sarina Wiegman took over in 2021. Her squad is also the reigning European champion, having defeated Germany in last year’s final.

Claiming the Euro Cup in 2022 was also a massive milestone for England. It was the first major international title that the country won on the women’s side. Many believe the team has only scratched the surface of what they can achieve.

England’s most recent journey to the World Cup resulted in a semi-finals appearance. They lost to the US and finished fourth in the entire tournament. In 2023, England has a much better squad overall, and the goal now is to win their first World Cup.

Is England a legitimate threat to claim the World Cup title in 2023? In terms of recent form, the Lionesses are doing great. They won every qualifying match for the 2023 FIFA World Cup. The team’s only loss since 2022 was during a friendly against Australia back in April.

The squad’s confidence and the tactical influence of Wiegman give me enough of a reason that England can go all the way in 2023.

Spain

  • FIFA Ranking: 7th
  • Head Coach: Jorge Vilda
  • Key Player: Alexia Putellas

Spain hasn’t been the luckiest team when competing at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The country’s best performance was in 2019, when the team made it to the Round of 16. That was the only year that the Spaniards got past the Group Stage.

2023 is an entirely different story for the Spanish national team. The combination of Alexia Putellas and Jenni Hermoso at midfield has been nothing short of dynamic. The team has also found the net plenty of times in recent friendlies against China and Norway.

You can’t deny that Spain also benefits from playing in Group C. The only other real threat is Japan, which means that the Spaniards should have an easier path to winning the World Cup. I expect them to play in the semi-finals, at the very least.

The recent drama surrounding the Spanish team, however, could be a problem. Several players recently accused head coach Jorge Vilda of causing emotional harm through harsh training methods.

The poor atmosphere is why I simply can’t back Spain right now. You need the entire team and staff on the same page to win the World Cup.

Football FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Prediction

The two most likely winners of the upcoming World Cup 2023 are England and the United States. Both teams have the talent, depth, and coaching experts to win the tournament.

The odds for the best European side are better, though, and the entire nation believes in the team’s success. That’s why I prefer backing England in my Women’s World Cup 2023 betting pick.

  • My Betting Pick: England to win; +275
