Lobstermania 2 takes all of the thrills and excitement from the first game and then enlarges it to ensure that you’re getting an even bigger and more enjoyable game. Accessing the Lobstermania 2 slot game will provide you with a slightly larger interface than the first game. It remains with five reels to spin, but there are now four rows in action, giving you more chance to form wins. This layout is joined by a set of 40 lines as well, although in the game, the setup is explained as being 40 lines + feature. The lines that the game features cannot be customized, so you will always be betting on the same amount. However, you can still alter the value of the wager that you place on these lines. This is done by using the relevant + and – buttons that can be found underneath the ‘Coin Value’ section. There, you’re able to choose from coin values between $1 and upwards to $10. With this at its maximum level, you’ll be placing a wager of $600 per spin. You’ll also find that the bottom of the reels has a button for setting the reels off on autospin, too.
On the visual side of things, Lobstermania 2 sees IGT take the impressive enough graphics of the first game and improve on them. In the background of the slot, you’ll see the shore and some blue waters are present. Meanwhile, the five reels of the game is where you will find the various icons. The starting symbols of the slot – and thereby the lowest paying ones – are visible in the form of the playing card additions that so many video slots use. These are the aqua 8, the orange 9, the yellow 10, the green J, the purple Q and the blue K. After these, there’s a higher paying icon of a seaside house with a boat next to it – possibly Larry’s house. The symbol of the lighthouse comes next on the reels, while the fishing boat also operates as an extra symbol. The highest paying standard icon is that of the “paintbrush in the sea”, although we’re still unsure of what IGT is trying to make this look like. Five of them on a winning pay line though will reward you with 400 times your wager.
Lobster is on the Menu
It’s not only a standard base game that this slot contains, but there’s a selection of specialties available alongside, too. Two wild symbols are available on the reels, both of which are visible as the game’s own logo, just with different background colors. The first one is the orange wild, which substitutes for all icons except for the Larry image. Five of these on a pay line will reward you with 8,000 times your bet. The blue wild substitutes for all icons except the orange wild and the Larry symbol.
On each of the spins that you make, the green ‘Jackpot’ image may appear over any of the symbols. If three, four or five of these come into view in any position on the reels, they substitute for their respective symbols but also pay out a jackpot win if appearing on three or more consecutive reels. The three jackpots are the Light Trap for three jackpots, the Full Trap for four jackpots and the Mother Lode for five jackpots.
The game also has something known as the Multiplier Feature. There are two multiplier overlays, the five times and the three times. If a symbol containing one of these appears on a line win, then the pay-out is multiplied by the amount on display. Multiplier icons only appear on the third reel of the slot.
There’s an extra feature round known as the Bonus Picker, too. If three of the white-backed Larry symbols show up on a winning pay line, then this round begins. From them, you just need to select from the Lucky Larry’s Buoy Bonus 2 round or the Lucky Lobster’s Free Spins Bonus round. The Buoy Bonus round requires you to pick either the Brazil, Australia or Maine icon and be awarded with two, three or four buoy picks. For each buoy that you pick after, between two and four lobsters are pulled. Each of these lobsters rewards you with between 10 times and 575 times the coin value of the triggering spin. Alternatively, it will reward you with the golden lobster. Should you find this, you’ll get either the octopus, kangaroo or pelican bonus, depending upon which location was chosen as the beginning of the bonus.
The kangaroo bonus of Australia pays out between 200 and 800 times the coin value and ends when the kangaroo holding the golden lobster is picked. Selecting the Brazil octopus bonus pays out between 200 and 1,000 times the coins value. Meanwhile, choosing the pelican Maine bonus rewards you with between 160 times and 625 times the coin value.
Finally, the Lucky Lobsters Free Spins Bonus feature gives you five extra freespins to play through, which includes enhanced versions of all of the standard symbols, including the wild additions.
