Winning Bingo Strategies
How to win at online bingo? Strategy can be difficult to determine when playing online bingo as it is, by nature, a game of almost pure chance. In other words, your actions have no influence over the odds of a bingo win. In this way, bingo works just like other lottery based games. Numbers are drawn by a random entity and your card fills up at random (provided that the game is fair). In certain games, buying multiple cards can increase your chances but this purchase should be weighed against the jackpot.
Unfortunately, this means that a winning bingo strategy does not exist. No matter what you do (unless you cheat) you will be subject to the exact same odds as everyone else with the same number of cards. There are, however, things that you can do to artificially increase your odds of winning by a very small margin. These chances are also governed by the same rules of luck and may ultimately be influenced by stylistic and chance opportunities. Follow these guidelines to give yourself the most opportunity to win at online bingo:
Buying Multiple Cards
In short games (such as four corners and the smaller version of diamond) buying multiple cards can create a better chance for you to win. However, you must weight whether or no the additional card purchase is worthwhile based on the jackpot. In general, make sure that you stand to win at least double what you spend on your cards in every game. For example:
You are about to play a four corners game where the jackpot is listed at $24. You decide to buy 10 cards at $1.00 a piece. All things being equal, this is a smart play.
You are about to play a small diamond game where the jackpot is listed at $12. You decide to buy 10 cards at $1.00 a piece. All things being equal, this is a bad play as you only stand to win $2.
Number of Opponents
Most of the time, the jackpot is directly influenced by the number of players currently playing a game and how many cards they each buy. If you are playing 20 opponents that each hold 10 cards, your odds of winning (if you purchase 10 cards) are 10 out of 210. If this is acceptable to you, you may decide to play it. However, this is generally not a wise game in which to get involved. On the other hand, if you are playing 20 opponents that each hold one card, your odds of winning are much greater with 10 cards.
Most of the time, you should weigh the amount of players along with the prize awarded to the winner to determine the amount of cards that you should purchase. Always remember to stay well below the jackpot in your card purchase and increase your chances over the amount of players only if you see the opportunity to do so. If a game is crowded with player that have purchased multiple cards, avoid the game. It is not even wise to invest a single card in a game with such odds against you.
